Our Funding Partners
In March 2024 we received funding from Community Chest Funding to help us to provide equipment for our Young Ambassadors group. This funding has enabled us to buy essential equipment including hot water boilers & a microphone system. These items have significantly enhanced our ability to host & support a variety of community events. Allowing the Young Ambassadors to provide refreshments & creating a welcoming environment. The microphone system helps greatly at events as it allows speakers and performers the ability to be heard clearer by attendees.
In March 2023 we were awarded a grant from the mayors safer communities fund. This has enabled us to provide our Safe Neighbour HUB at The Good Shepherd Centre. The hub provides a safe place to meet, report hate crimes and receive practical support to some of our most disadvantaged and hard to reach families.
It has helped us to be able to provide drop in sessions, provide outreach work and give a platform for local police and partner agencies to directly engage with vulnerable communities.
We received a wonderful grant from the community climate grant funding. Receiving this grant has enabled us to organise for a new boiler to be fitted at the centre. This will be much more efficient and reliable than our old boiler and will ensure a safe, warm space for our community as the cold weather approaches.
Fruit Works
Trees For Cities
Together with Fruit Works & Trees for Cities we are going to be planting some fruit trees within our grounds. On Thursday 7th November representatives from both places attended the centre to run through a planting plan. They brought a fruit press with them and some crates of apples so our gardening group could press their own fruit juice.
